An Irreverent Journey Into the Heart of the World
"Through the Magic of Mixed Media Performance we forge an emotional connection with our audience that transcends entertainment. We plant the Seeds of Empathy. We fight Hypocrisy and Cruelty with Humor, Wit, Sarcasm and Love."
The Conundrum Foundation is a nonprofit arts and education organization based in Aspen, Colorado — named for the remote and storied wilderness of Conundrum Creek, high in the Rocky Mountains. The Foundation believes in the power of Humor to cross all borders. Borders of language and culture. Economic, religious, and political borders. Time is running out on our resources, and the population is growing exponentially.
Despite the naiveté of such an idea, the Foundation believes humanity must experience an evolutionary change in thought, word and action. We must embrace Kindness and Compassion. We must fix this planet, our only home — and ourselves.
Our inaugural show, Prince of Travelers, is a step in that evolution. The performance is a teaching disguised as entertainment. And through music and laughter in the darkened theater, or in a tent out on the Plains of Rajasthan, we will persevere.
Prince of Travelers is an original live multimedia theatrical production — part performance, part film, part music, part illusion — that follows an irreverent world traveler across five decades of global adventure and the occasional miracle.
From the Trans-Siberian to the blue-green waters off the coast of Sulawesi — these are the stories, the lessons and the moments at twilight. Our Traveler has journeyed from the Himalaya to Borneo, from the Karakoram to the Terai, from Islamabad to Khartoum, from Borobudur to McLeod Ganj — and he has Stories to tell you. The multilingual nature of the show is not a social policy — it is an Artistic Truth. Javanese Shadow Puppets, Balinese Dance, the smell of Samosas drifting from the wings, Mystic Feats of Levitation — Prince of Travelers creates Community by pulling its audience into a magical world that stretches across the entire globe.
A world tour playing 300-800 seat venues. Launching Summer/Fall 2027.
Little Travelers is a children's theater workshop program for children ages 4-7, held on stage at the Wheeler Opera House in Aspen, Colorado — one of the premier performing arts venues in the American West.
Each session is 90 minutes of guided improvisation, character creation, storytelling, and the magic of live theater. Children create their own character — a name, a home country, a costume — and bring it to life on a professional stage. Along the way, an introduction to world dance forms — Thai, Indian, Modern, Balinese — and the lights, sound, and technical wizardry that make theater come alive.
Pilot program launching Summer 2028. Led by Razame de la Crackers and guest teaching artists from the Prince of Travelers company.
